The short version
The Competition is a competition for body composition change. Scoring is based on body fat % estimates. Don't use it as medical advice. Any financial interactions are settled outside the app.
Who we are
The Competition is run by Sam and Jack Gillette. Not a company. "We" and "us" in this document mean Sam and Jack. "You" means anyone who uses it. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.
Who can use it
You must be 18 or older and in the United States. One account per person. You're responsible for keeping your password safe and for what happens on your account.
Testing phase
The Competition is in testing. Features will change, things will break, and we may reset or delete test competitions and their data. We'll tell you before we delete anything you'd want to keep.
It's a game, not medical advice
Body fat estimates, scores, and rankings come from tape measurements, photos, and AI estimates. They are approximate and can be wrong. They are for the competition only. They are not medical advice, a diagnosis, or a recommendation to diet or exercise in any particular way.
Scoring and results
Scores are calculated by The Equation, our scoring system. We may adjust how it works between seasons. A competition keeps the equation it started with.
Each competition's admin can review submissions, mark them invalid, add corrections, and assign bonuses and penalties under that competition's rules. Results become final at the finale, after which they can't be changed. If we find a bug that produced wrong results, we may correct them.
Money and prizes
Any buy-in, pot, prize, or punishment is agreed between the competitors in a competition. The app may track how a pot will be split, but we don't collect, hold, or pay out money, and we aren't responsible for any arrangement between competitors.
Your content
You keep ownership of everything you submit: measurements, photos, chat messages, and files. You give us permission to store, process, and display that content as needed to run the app and the competitions you join, as described in the Privacy Policy, including sending photos to our AI providers for estimates.
Only submit photos of yourself, and only content you have the right to share.
Conduct
Don't:
- submit fake, altered, or someone else's measurements or photos;
- share other competitors' photos or numbers outside the app without their permission;
- try to break into accounts, get around privacy settings, or interfere with how the app runs.
We may remove content, end a competition, or suspend or delete an account that breaks these terms.
Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time from your profile. What happens to your data is described in the Privacy Policy.
No warranty
The app is provided as is, without any warranty. We don't promise it will be available, accurate, or free of errors, or that your data will never be lost.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any injury, loss, or dispute arising from your use of the app, your diet or exercise, or any arrangement between competitors. The app is free, and our total liability for any claim is limited to $50.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Colorado.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we'll update the effective date above. If a change is significant, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using the app after that, you accept the new terms.
